Reframing Beauty

A unique photogallery to remind us that although breast cancer can happen to any of us, beauty and strength belong to all of us.

We developed a traveling gallery where survivors of varying ethnicities, ages, socioeconomic status, and treatments participated in Empowerment Photography Sessions to reframe what it means to be beautiful. The gallery’s initiative is twofold. First, the experience itself is grounding and aims to provide the participants with the opportunity to reconnect with themselves and recognize the true beauty they possess. Secondly, the collection aims to inspire and empower anyone who see it, especially our breast cancer community, with the understanding that they too have beauty, courage, and strength within themselves. One survivor shared that seeing the collection in person was like a giant hug from those who’ve gone before her. She was not alone.
